Mobico Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil White as Chair of the Board with effect from 1 May 2025 when, as previously announced, Helen Weir will now also leave the Board.

Phil has over 40 years' experience in the transport sector and has held a range of non-executive roles across different industries. He was previously CEO of National Express Group plc between 1997 and 20061, during which time he expanded the business internationally and oversaw the transformational acquisition of Alsa. He has also held a variety of board positions across the wider transport industry, including Yorkshire Rider, Travel West Midlands, Stagecoach, Shearings and Porterbrook.

Other previous non-executive roles include chairing Unite Group plc, Lookers plc and Kier Group plc. Phil is currently Senior Independent Director at Vp plc, the specialist equipment rental company, but will stand down from this role on 30 June 2025.

Karen Geary, Mobico Senior Independent Director, commented: "We are delighted that Phil will be joining the company. He brings considerable experience from across the transport sector and chairing other leading UK listed businesses, as well as his insight and knowledge from previously leading National Express Group.

"We are certain to benefit from Phil's expertise as we focus on delivering on a clear set of priorities, which includes strengthening the Group's balance sheet and creating value across our portfolio of businesses. We would like to thank Helen for her contribution during her time on Mobico's Board and we wish her well in the future."

Phil White added: "Mobico has been through a period of significant change since I led the business, but what remains the same is the valuable role that public transport and the company play in society. I'm looking forward to working with Mobico's Board, the Executive leadership and the wider team to address the challenges and opportunities ahead as we focus on creating a business that is fit for the future."
